The Bardzour installation is part of the universe of “Smart Grids”, the electrical networks that enable intelligent and advanced management of the electric power available.
Ingeteam, in partnership with Saft and Corex Sola takes over the supply of the largest photovoltaic plant with storage of the French CRE (Commission de Régulation de l’Energie): the Bardzour installation in the Indian Ocean Reunion Island. The production capacity of this project is 9 MW, the average consumption of 13,500 people.
“The electric storage associated to the renewable generation plants in weak networks environments, such as the island of Reunion, allows greater integration of renewable generation and provides greater manageability to the electrical system by delivering a stable and predictable power, regardless of the intermittency of renewable resource, thus minimizing the planned diversions of power, “explains Ingeteam.
The control system is key
In this sense, the control system is key to ensuring effective management of energy flows within the system and towards the grid. “Deviations in production are penalized, so Akuo Energy will depend on a precise energy management system as well as an operation of the system that is stable in time to ensure revenue and ROI (return on investment) according to their targets, “explains Ingeteam.
Within the framework of this project, this company supplies the power electronics systems, EMS (Energy Management System), the plant AAC (Advanced Automation Controller), electrical medium voltage switchgear, installation, commissioning, training and operation and maintenance contract that guarantee the availability of its equipment, with a storage capacity of 9 MWh. It is also the supplier of all the installation´s photovoltaic inverters.
