The II German-Hispanic Meeting on Energy Efficiency and Renewables will be held in the Canary Islands between June 5th and 7th. After last year’s success in Gran Canaria, this year the German Chamber of Commerce will travel to Tenerife. The conferences will focus on non-residential buildings such as hotels, Spa, offices, shopping centers, educational centers, sports centers, hospitals and residences, logistics warehouses, industrial buildings and public administration buildings.
The Days will start with a Commercial Mission involving 8 German companies with products related to the rehabilitation and renovation of buildings, air conditioning and ventilation, the use of renewable energy and energy storage in hotels and other non-residential buildings.
Within the framework of the Commercial Mission, the German Chamber will organize individual inhouse meetings on the 5th and 6th of June throughout the Canary Islands between German and Canarian businessmen in order to initiate commercial or technological relations. Among the German companies are market leaders such as BOSCH TERMOTECNIA, pioneering companies in their sector such as LTG AIR TECH SYSTEMS and SMEs with innovative solutions such as DRYMAT-Systeme that can generate new business opportunities.
On June 7 a technical-commercial day will be held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with German and Spanish experts that will address issues such as the legal framework, subsidies and profitability of energy efficiency measures and implementation of renewables. Innovative technologies and success stories of energy rehabilitation of buildings will be announced. The participants will include among others Herbert Kügel, German vice-consul in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Gonzalo Piernavieja, Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, David Hoys, consulting director at Dyrecto Consultores, Sonja Simon, researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Marco Schmidt from the Polytechnic University of Berlin.
This is an initiative boosted by the German Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi) to promote commercial relations and exchange knowledge between German and Spanish companies, the German Chamber of Commerce in Madrid reports in a statement. The event will also have the support of sectorial associations of the Canary Islands such as ASHOTEL, ITER and PROEXCA.
The free admission meeting is aimed at professionals in the hotel sector, architects, designers and engineers, energy companies, construction companies and rehabilitation companies, installers and maintenance companies, distributors and representatives of construction materials, technical equipment, etc. as well as public institutions, professional associations, technology centers and the media.
