X-ELIO has completed the construction of the photovoltaic solar plant in the state of Guanajuato (Mexico) making it X-ELIO´s first operating plant in Mexico. The installation has a power capacity of 74MW. In total, the company´s portfolio in the Mexican market accounts to some 600MW of projects with guaranteed prices. This proves X-ELIO´s commitment to growth and development in Mexico.
The impact of the Guanajuato plant on the economy of the region is very significant. With this project, the global developer specializing in photovoltaic solar energy has generated 30 direct jobs for operation and maintenance. In addition, over the twelve months of the plant construction process, carried out by Grupo Avanzia, 868 jobs were generated, both direct and induced.
The Guanajuato project has been entirety developed by the X-ELIO team. In addition to this plant, other facilities are expected to come into operation during 2019 and 2020 in the Mexican territory.

X-ELIO´s CEO, Jorge Barredo, on the occasion of the entry into operation of the Guanajuato plant noted: “it represents a significant advance in our development plans in Mexico, a country where we will continue to grow in the next years. With this project we further meet X-ELIO´s global plans of internationalization and growth worldwide and we demonstrate our great efficiency in the implementation of solar photovoltaic projects“.
The company has allocated an investment of 71 million dollars to the Guanajuato project. In this regard, in order to finance this installation and other projects existing in X-ELIO pipeline, the company has relied on a union comprised of financial entities, which includes multilaterals and local banks.
