The City Council of Madrid will host the VEM FORUM next May 31. This is one of the activities taking place prior to the VEM2018 Fair, in which actions of the different public institutions to boost the electric vehicle will be analyzed along with the industrial transformation of the automotive sector, the new urban mobility models and electric mobility as the axis of energy efficiency in cities like Madrid.
The Electric Vehicle Fair of Madrid, VEM2018, is holding its fourth edition on June 1, 2 and 3 in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid. It is precisely within the framework of this consolidated event that the VEM FORUM is being organized for the first time, because “we have considered it necessary to hold a Forum that analyzes in a certain depth the reality of electric mobility from the City of Madrid perspective and the rest of cities through the Autonomous Community of Madrid ” Arturo Pérez de Lucia, Manager of the organizing entity AEDIVE –Business Association for the development and promotion of Electric Vehicle-, explains.
The VEM FORUM will focus its thematic program around three round tables: the industrial challenge of electric mobility; the 10% electric sharing in urban mobility and the energy management of EV in the urban environment. There will also be room to get first-hand knowledge of two projects of great interest to the Community of Madrid: one industrial project such as the CIVITAS ECCENTRIC and the other, the ‘LIFE GySTRA: Remote sensing’ project, for the actual measurement of pollutant emissions in vehicles.
Finally, discussions will be held around the conversion of electric vehicle manufacturers to providers of mobility solutions, business models and ICT in electric mobility and energy management for the electric vehicle in Madrid.
The VEM FORUM is sponsored by Bosch, Iberdrola and PSA Group and organized by AEDIVE along with the City Council of Madrid and it has the collaboration of the movilidadeléctrica.com portal. It will be held at the Auditorium Caja de Música of Centro Cibeles, on Thursday, May 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. under free admission subject to seating capacity. In short, the VEM FORUM was born with the purpose of bringing an update on actions and strategies, both those already being carried out, and those to be undertaken soon by the City Council of Madrid, the Autonomous Community Government, the EMT (Municipal Transport Company) and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
