The Catalan company LSolé specializing in clean energy solutions for industrial use -steam and cold and hot water- has exceeded the 33 MW mark of thermal energy for industry use, in most cases through biomass. The company has just finished installation of a thermal power plant of 7 MW in France, the largest one, increasing their presence in the country to a total of 33 MW.
The company LSolé from Girona offers services to industry including biomass plants associated with water cooling equipment (up to 7 degrees and that entail significant reductions in energy consumption) or for industrial drying through hot air. The company’s technology for biomass contributes to various sectors such as carpentry, agribusiness and floriculture.
Installations carried out
In early 2014, the new 7 MW thermal energy installation- the one with the largest capacity launched in France- is added to the twelve existing industrial power plants in operation. In 2003, the first plant with LSolé technology was commissioned in the country.
But in 2013, LSolé also developed two new thermal power plants totaling 6 MW; 4 MW from the agribusiness companies’ own bioenergy ( high biomass) and 1.7 MW from floriculture (greenhouses). Throughout 2012, as a result of LSolé commitment to contributing to the French market for clean energy from biomass, more than 8 MW of thermal energy were launched through two facilities in a distillery and in a sawmill.
In both cases the high biomass or residue from agroindustrial activity was used as the renewable fuel that was harnessed through LSolé’s industrial power plants technology. For example, a French distillery saved the consumption of 500,000 euro in natural gas per year and the cost of managing organic waste or “grape” bagasse turning it into fuel for the thermal power through its 4 MW power plant.
Bois Energie Trade Fair
With the same goal of promoting the switch to renewable technology, LSolé participated yesterday and today, 13 and 14 March in the Bois Energie event in Saint- Etienne, France where, as a novelty compared to 2013 , it has presented – along with other solutions- its new line of boilers ES (Essential Series), a proprietary product designed to bring the advantages of biomass to a greater number of industries and buildings equipped with its characteristic high efficiency mobile grate technology.
Who is LSolé
LSolé is a family owned business with over 26 years experience, leading in power generation through biomass plants for industrial use and heat, cold or electricity services. Founded in 1985, the company has installed over 500 energy generation plants (average power of 20 MW thermal and 2 MWe ) in 20 countries through its international distribution network. More than 75 % of the company’s sales are from exports, which exceeded 9. 6 million euro in 2012 ( 9.4 in 2011).
