Hannover Messe, the world´s leading industrial fair, at its press launch yesterday, provided clues of the digitalization of the future. The fair, with an expected participation of 6,500 companies from 75 countries, will be held in the German city of Hannover from April 1 to 5.

Onuora Ogbukagu, spokesperson of de Deutsche Messe AG, presented yesterday to a large group of journalists from the specialized press, a new edition of Hannover Messe. This fair is considered the world’s leading trade fair for the industry. On this occasion, Sweden will be the guest country.

For Ogbukagu, the goal of this fair is to increase the competitiveness of companies looking to the future. To this end, industrial and artificial intelligence is key, but with man as the essential part of the engine. More than 6,500 exhibitors from 75 countries, more than 220,000 visitors and 2,500 accredited journalists, are dizzying figures of a fair that welcomes both large and small companies alike. In fact, the great international interest is because Hannover Messe is considered as “The Factory of the Future”. Visitors from the fields of industrial manufacturing and the energy sector are invited to learn about the future of the industry.

Thematic area

Hannover Messe brings together the sectors of automation, robotics, industrial software, drives, energy technologies, and outsourcing and development.

But encompassing all this thematic area the Artificial Intelligence stands out. According to Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Messe AG, “In the future, AI technologies will control network production plants and continuously improve systems increasing quality standards. Manufacturing processes will be increasingly flexible and profitable. ”

In addition, all the advances in the new 5G communications standard can be found. This system will lay the foundations for the complete digitization of the economy, and will allow fully harnessing automatic learning in production or autonomous driving.

However, the center-piece that Hannover Messe has wanted to emphasize on, is the “Industrial Intelligence”, which refers to the digital interconnection between people and machines in the age of artificial intelligence. Thus, cooperation between people and machines will be one of the key thematic areas of Hannover Messe 2019 and the congress to take place on April 3.

Mobility of the future

Mobility will be one of the main axes of this edition of the Hannover Messe, with electric mobility as the cornerstone of this theme. Both the new energy storage systems and the systems and materials for light construction will be the starting point for the improvement of resistance, efficiency, design and resources consumption.

Sweden, guest country

It is customary for a country to be the “Partner Country” or “Guest Country” in the different editions of Hannover Messe, and this time it was the turn of Sweden, a country that leads the industry in different areas with just over 10 million inhabitants. Not only the industry widely known ABB but also the leader in musical downloads Spotify, are just some of the multimillion-dollar companies in the Scandinavian country. Stockholm stands out as the second city in the world in the creation of Start Ups, and probably because of the great collaboration between universities, private companies and the state. Lars-Hjarmar Wide, Sweden’s ambassador in Spain, highlighted the long commercial tradition with Germany, and encouraged the Spanish industry to visit Hannover.
