Duro Felguera in Argentina has been awarded the construction of two simple cycles of 127 MW in Luján and four simple cycles of 254 MW in Matheu. Less than a month ago, IHI, a company belonging to the company’s Oil & Gas business line, was also awarded a contract close to $ 12.5 million to run a project in Bahrain where it was not present until now.
DF Mompresa, S.A.U. and Duro Felguera Argentina, S.A., companies 100% owned by Duro Felguera, S.A., have formed a consortium with Siemens Energy Inc. and Siemens, S.A. (Argentina) for the construction of two simple cycles of 127 MW in Luján and four simple cycles of 254 MW in Matheu, both projects in Argentina.
The price for the execution of the works of both contracts that correspond only to DF Mompresa, S.A.U. and Duro Felguera Argentina, S.A. is 108.5 million US dollars.
For the execution of the works, they have signed two EPC contracts, one for each site, with the companies Stoneway Capital Corp. and Araucar ia Energy, S.A. The deadline for completion is December 1, 2017.
Contract close to $ 12.5 million in Bahrain
Less than a month ago, IHI, a company belonging to Duro Felguera´s Oil & Gas business line, was also awarded a new contract close to 12.5 million dollars to execute a project in Bahrain, where it was not present until now.
The project will help strengthen its expansion in the Middle East, where it has recently successfully concluded a project in Saudi Arabia. They also have projects in other enclaves in the region such as Jordan or Iran.
Through this contract, Felguera-IHI will develop a project consisting of two cryogenic storage tanks for the National Gas Company of Bahrain (BNGEC) in order to expand the facilities of Sitra.
Their capacity will be 100,000 and 200,000 barrels of butane and propane, respectively. The works, which will be developed under the “turnkey” modality (EPC), are expected to have a twenty months execution period.
The project is framed within the last phase of the Bahrain company strategic plan to triple the production of LPG plants from the natural gas extracted in the adjacent fields and the surplus from the annexed refinery.
BNGEC awarded the EPC contract for the expansion of Sitra storage facilities to the main contractor, JGC Gulf International Co. Ltd of Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of JGC Corporation in Yokohama, Japan. JGC awarded the works of the tanks to Felguera – IHI.
